Volunteer: Rappahannock Education Farm - Harvest Volunteers

Volunteers may help with prepping the soil for planting, weeding, distributing woodchips and mulch, watering the land, planting seeds, tilling, composting, removing debris, harvesting, gleaning (if needed), and other general farming duties as assigned.

Dr. Eric Bonds will share his gardening secrets – what works, what doesn’t work, his favorite veggies to grow, and how he grows microgreens indoors year-round. Come and soak in Eric’s wisdom, real-world experience and positive vibes! Come with your questions and concerns and leave with solutions. Eric was a driving force behind the establishment of the Brag Hill Community Garden on Fall Hill Avenue in the City of Fredericksburg.

Volunteer: REF Garden Annex - Volunteers @ FRFB: 3631 Lee Hill Dr, Fred, VA 22408

Volunteers may help with prepping the soil for planting, weeding, distributing woodchips and mulch, watering the crop, planting seeds, composting, removing debris, harvesting, and other general garden tasks as assigned. This is an onsite garden at Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank's main location. When you arrive and leave, please sign in and out on the sign-in sheet at the front desk (through the orange door). You must also check in and out online.

* NO EXCESSIVE CELL PHONE USE (texting, playing games, phone calls)

* The garden is located in the front of the warehouse near the parking.

* Each person must be registered as a volunteer through our website and signed up for the shift.

* Volunteers 7-14 years old, must be accompanied by an adult.

* Volunteers under 18 years old must also have a Youth Consent Form on file with us. To request this form, email dthomas@fredfood.org.
