Volunteer: GHC - Gardening Classes #1: Planning, Prepping, Soil Testing, Light Requirements, Composting - Youth & Adults* Adults and youth ages 10 & up are welcome. Growing a Healthy Community is a collaborative initiative offering gardening classes to the community (no experience necessary). Each month, a different topic will be offered multiple times. Prep and planning, soil testing, light requirements, composting - Attendees will learn how to take a soil test, how to submit a sample to the VT Soil Lab, and why this is important - Attendees will learn how to plan for a garden, including spacing requirements needed, and when planting can begin ** We may consider offering a Wednesday morning class. If this interests you, please let your instructor know when you arrive. _________________________________ * Must wear close-toed shoes * Youth 10-15 years old must complete and sign a Youth Consent Form, along with their parent/guardian, which is provided onsite, and they must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
