GHC - Gardening Class #6: Adult & Ages 4 & Up Welcome - Soil Your Undies! An Interactive Soil Celebration

Description

* Adults and youth ages 4 & up are welcome.

* You MUST be registered as a volunteer to attend.

* You MUST be signed up for this class to attend.

* Please DO NOT bring extra attendees, as space and supplies are limited.

Growing a Healthy Community is a collaborative initiative offering gardening classes to the community (no experience necessary). Each month, a different topic will be offered multiple times.

Class #6: Geared towards youth and the whole family, this educational program will demonstrate how soil is alive under our feet.
Participants will learn about soil types, common soil issues, and how to build and nurture healthy soils through interactive demonstrations and activities.

Each family will receive a free pair of cotton undies to 'soil your undies' (bury) at home, a soil testing kit, soil information, and kids' activity packets. Over time buried undies will begin to disappear and provide insight into the microbial communities and local soil health as the undies begin to disappear.
