Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, for a temporary amount of time, the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank will be monitoring, and limiting the amount of volunteers allowed into the facility at this time. These shifts are broken up into hour increments to ensure we do not have an over-abundance of volunteers compared to the space(s) we offer. If you plan to stay longer than an hour, please sign up accordingly for more than one shift slot.
Volunteers are also to be reminded that they should try and
keep a safe 4-6 feet apart when volunteering.Gloves and masks are required.
Volunteers will sort non-perishable donated food and nonfood items. Volunteers will be checking for secure packages, food quality dates, and sorting into set categories. Volunteers may also be asked to box sorted food for orders, stock shelves, and perform general warehouse maintenance.
THE SHIFTS ARE SET FOR (1) HOUR LONG; VOLUNTEERS MAY STAY LONGER AND DO NOT NEED TO SIGN UP FOR MULTIPLE SHIFTS. THIS IS SIMPLY TO HELP THE FOOD BANK KEEP TRACK OF WHO IS COMING IN AND OUT OF THE WAREHOUSE AND TO ENSURE WE CONTINUE TO HAVE SPACE FOR EVERYONE.
