Volunteer: Senior Box Delivery (CSFP)

**Volunteer must be able to lift approximately 35lbs**


Our Senior Box Delivery opportunity requires a volunteer to pick up food from the food bank and deliver it to a senior in need once a month. Seniors require delivery across all of our service areas (6 Localities: Caroline, King George, Orange, Spotsylvania, Stafford, and the City of Fredericksburg).


Volunteers who sign up for this opportunity will be matched to a senior in greatest need from anywhere in our service area. Please note that this may require you to drive up to 50 miles from our warehouse. The Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank is not open on weekends. Volunteers are encouraged to pick up their boxes/deliveries on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday before 1:00 PM, or Thursday and Friday before 12:00 PM.  
Please be aware of the weather. You are urged to drink plenty of water, dress in loose but appropriate attire, and always wear closed-toed shoes. This doesn't count towards community service hour requirements.

Our Senior Home Delivery Volunteer opportunity requires a volunteer to pick up food from the food bank and deliver it to a senior in need every week. Seniors require delivery across all of our service areas (6 Localities: Caroline, King George, Orange, Spotsylvania, Stafford, and the City of Fredericksburg). Volunteers who sign up for this opportunity will be matched to a senior in greatest need from anywhere in our service area. Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank is not open on weekends. Volunteers are required to pick up the meals weekly on Tuesdays between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM or Wednesdays between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM.

Volunteer: Box Pack - CSFP @ 480 Central Rd, Fred, VA 22401

If you sign up, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU SHOW UP! 

PLEASE ARRIVE 5-15 minutes prior to start time! Volunteers help pack several hundred boxes for senior citizens (age 60 and over)  in our community,  at our warehouse. Each supplemental box is designed to meet the nutritional needs of those in need.  It features items such as beans, sauce, pasta, and canned fruits and vegetables.

The boxes are put on a roller belt and moved from volunteer to volunteer.  Each volunteer places their food item in the box and passes it on.  The boxes are quality checked at the end of the line and put on a pallet.  Able-bodied volunteers also help with replenishment of food for those filling the boxes. Boxes are broken down and recycled. There is some clean-up after all of the boxes are packed.
