Growing a Healthy Community is a collaborative initiative offering gardening classes to the community (no experience necessary). Each month, a different topic will be offered multiple times.
Class #4: Volunteers will be encouraged to 'think like a gardener' and consider how this season's unusual spring (late frost, cool, damp weather, extreme drought) has affected the garden this year. Next, you will learn about applying the tools of Integrated Pest Management in the home garden and how those themes can actually apply in all areas of our lives. Attendees will gain hands-on experience identifying common insect pests and practice basic insect control methods.
