Growing a Healthy Community is a collaborative initiative offering gardening classes to the community (no experience necessary). Each month, a different topic will be offered multiple times.
Class #5: This hands-on class is for all ages and is a chance to have some fun while celebrating our pollinators! Students will observe bees directly in the demonstration garden and the surrounding pollinator garden as they work to gather pollen and nectar. Students will then dissect their own flower to see up close how pollination works. Finally, students will explore how floral diversity is reflected through FLAVOR by sampling 5 different varieties of honey and discussing the different colors, flavors, and textures.
