** September is Hunger Action Month **
Wear ORANGE through downtown Fredericksburg while supporting First Friday!
FXBG First Friday is an event that happens on the first Friday of every month that celebrates the fantastic art, community, and vibrancy of Downtown Fredericksburg. It is a collaboration between galleries and art events, retailers, restaurants, and nonprofits in the downtown district that works to showcase the art in all we do.
From 5 PM to 9 PM every First Friday, adults aged 21+ can purchase a beer, wine, or cocktail at a participating restaurant and enjoy it while strolling within the marked boundaries Downtown.
Orange is the color of hunger, and every September during Hunger Action Month, we ask everyone to wear orange and raise their voice on behalf of the millions of people facing hunger! If you don't have any orange clothes, no worries, accessories work, too! So grab your favorite beads, feather boa, and hat, and join us.
We need 10-12 volunteers to help operate this activity as support staff. Main Street will have managing staff on-site who will give an orientation and assignments. Tasks could include taking care of FRFB's table at the visitor center, a guide for patrons, and clean-up.
